Job Summary
Manage 15-20 stores in a district by hiring, coaching, and developing Store Managers to meet sales, profitability, and operating cost goals. Provide directional leadership through Family Dollar training programs, ensuring consistent standards in customer service, loss prevention, inventory, and safety. Act as a liaison between store operations and functional departments to secure resources and remove obstacles. Prepare financial and operational reports, manage the district budget, and collaborate with Loss Prevention partners to achieve shrink objectives. Travel locally and overnight up to 25% of the time, working flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of High School or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed
- Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Prior district/multi-store management experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments
- Financial and retail management skills, including: the ability to interpret reporting data, review P&L statements, manage payroll budgets, control expense, monitor inventory levels and execute merchandising directives
- Evidence of building and motivating a team of diverse Team Members
- Proven leadership and the ability to recruit, develop and retain top performers
- Good verbal communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Planning, collaboration and organizational skills
- Ability to react under pressure, apply good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable as appropriate
- Ability to read, interpret and explain to others operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc)
