Job Summary
Lead the sales team to advance toward excellent safety standards and performance milestones while providing thoughtful P&L care for assigned branches and territory. Cultivate exceptional customer service and product knowledge by implementing strategic plans that optimize profit margins and operating expenses. Mentor staff through continuous learning and partner with Branch Managers on hiring, training, and collaborative development. Coordinate paperwork, inventory, pricing, and profitability to ensure operational health, while advocating for safety measures through interactive meetings. Support outside sales representatives by preparing insightful sales data and providing thoughtful forecasts for leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years in a relevant field
- Proven record of contributing to sustainable sales success and profitable growth
- Experience of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business sales-related or sales operations position
- Prior experience mentoring a team and stewardship of a P&L (or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving gases and welding supplies)
- Supportive and collaborative leadership approach, with a history of supporting and mentoring teams for at least 3 years
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building alignment and staying organized
- Comfortable with Microsoft solutions, particularly Excel and Word, and experienced in data entry and order extraction
- Numerical proficiency for practical business applications and analytical reporting
- Adaptability to work both self-directed and collaboratively, maintaining focus in a dynamic environment
- The ability to foster understanding while interacting with diverse teams and personalities
- Solid understanding of business and accounting concepts including, but not limited to, Return on Investment (ROI), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margin responsibilities
- Physical capability to lift 25-75 lbs. as needed to support operations
- A valid driver's license and an insured personal vehicle
- Comfortable working in a drug-free environment
- Flexibility to adjust your schedule to meet the needs of our customers and the management team
Desired Qualifications
- A history of advancing sales growth and achieving consistent year-over-year progress
- Experience in the Industrial Gas industry and/or welding
- Experience in sales team management with a focus on sustainable growth
- Public speaking capabilities to represent the brand with confidence
- Strong ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
- SAP experience
