Job Summary
Food Service Cook responsible for preparing, cooking, baking and serving a variety of school meals for students in a 6-hour daily shift across 182 school days. Duties include preparing baked goods and main dishes, salads, sandwiches, fruit, soup, and sauces; maintaining safety and cleanliness; following planned menus and standardized recipes; ensuring meals meet USDA portion and nutrition guidelines; assisting with inventories and proper storage of unused foods; assisting with kitchen and service area cleanup; participating in training programs; and contributing to a positive nutrition-focused school environment. Requires the ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, follow health and sanitation regulations, meet schedules, and communicate effectively. Education requirement is a high school diploma or GED; must possess a valid Kentucky drivers license and pass required background checks; certification for school food services personnel is required.
