Job Summary
Assist students with all aspects of the program they are supporting across various Licensed Programs throughout TCAPS, developing positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community members. Maintain classroom records for attendance, behavior documentation, anecdotal notes, and lunch counts while ensuring a clean and safe facility and playground. Implement and enforce district safety standards and behavior management techniques, administer children's medication and First Aid as needed, and bring discipline concerns to the Lead Teacher or Principal. Participate in planned meetings and up to 16 clock hours of professional development activities annually. This 30+ hour weekly position reports directly to the Licensed Child Care Director and requires consistent attendance during the school year, including potential evenings, weekends, and irregular hours for events or training. Candidates must pass a criminal history background check and possess current First Aid and CPR training.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- 18+ years of age
- Prior experience working/interacting with children
- Current First Aid and infant, child, and adult CPR training
- Willingness to obtain First Aid and infant, child, and adult CPR training at the next available offering
- Willingness to complete up to 16 clock hours of professional development training
- Ability to report on a regular and consistent basis
- Consistent and punctual attendance
- Ability to move about the classroom/building and school property
- Ability to sit on the floor
- Ability to bend

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Some Early Childhood or Child Development college coursework
