Job Summary
Provides districtwide support related to student wellness, mental health services, attendance improvement, crisis response, and Section 504 compliance. Serves as a resource to school site administrators and support staff by providing consultation, training, and direct support in complex student cases. Assists school teams in ensuring compliance with Section 504 requirements, promoting student well-being, and connecting students and families with appropriate services and supports. Essential functions include consulting with administrators, counselors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and school site teams; guiding Section 504 procedures, accommodations, eligibility determinations, and threat assessment; developing and delivering districtwide training on Section 504 compliance, student wellness, attendance, and mental health; collaborating with community agencies to coordinate support; conducting needs assessments and developing intervention plans; providing direct counseling and case management to students; assisting families in accessing school-based and community-based services; participating in multidisciplinary teams addressing attendance and mental health concerns; supporting crisis response efforts; and maintaining knowledge of federal/state laws related to student wellness and 504 compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential in School Social Work
- Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) Authorization
- Experience facilitating Section 504 meetings and developing Section 504 accommodation plans
- Experience providing mental health services and crisis intervention in a school setting
- Experience conducting suicide risk assessments and participating in threat assessment processes
- Experience providing professional development and training to school personnel
- Bilingual proficiency desirable
