Job Summary
Distribution Technician I - III at McCormick & Company, Inc. will perform picking/packing/staging of customer orders using RF scanning and a vehicle-mounted computer (VMC), operating a range of material handling equipment (including motorized pallet jacks, wrappers, pallet flippers, and pallet dispensers), and maintaining accurate inventory in SAP. The role requires adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards, completing sanitation and audits, and participating in team meetings and special projects. The position is full-time with a weekend shift (6 AM–4 PM on listed days) at the Maryland Logistics Center in Sparrows Point, involving overtime, and offers a $2.50 weekend shift premium and a $500 bonus after six months.
Required Qualifications
- Accurate clerical and numerical skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow complex procedures
- Ability to operate equipment including motorized pallet jack and battery charging system
- Ability to work overtime frequently or on short notice
- Overtime is mandatory at times and regular attendance is required
- Ability to lift to and including 50 pounds or more on a continuous basis
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures inside and outside
- Ability to execute the SAP inventory program
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Basic PC experience
- Regular onsite attendance required
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience
