Job Summary
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and order pickers to receive, putaway, pick, and replenish inventory while maintaining safe and clean work areas. Complete shipping and receiving documents, prepare bills of lading, and verify order accuracy before staging and delivering to designated areas. Perform cycle counting, maintain inventory control through WMS technology, and ensure compliance with all government regulations and safety certifications. Assist in loading and unloading trucks, manage dock facilities to maximize material flow, and follow ecological policies for recycling and energy conservation.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- 2 years in a high-volume warehousing environment
- specific knowledge regarding the principles of inventory control via warehouse management systems (WMS)
- the functionality of specialized warehouse equipment
- familiarity with standard shipping documentation
- Knowledge base of distribution and transactional operations
- healthcare background
- Must have an understanding and/or be willing to learn the principles of process improvement methods
- Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of current trends in warehouse management, technology and logistics
