Job Summary
Direct and supervise field personnel in the operation of the electric distribution system and subtransmission to ensure continuous service and timely restoration; recognize, analyze, and resolve complex anomalies using information from electronic systems, operating manuals, customer calls, and field input; dispatch and direct field personnel during outages and emergencies; mentor DSOS I, train personnel, and coordinate maintenance and restoration activities; write and dispatch switching orders, maintain records, and analyze loads and equipment ratings; communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders and prioritize daily workload to meet customer demands; role may include serving as the primary writer for switching orders or as the primary trainer for incoming DSOS I; requires working knowledge of electrical distribution system design and operations and strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university preferred
- Five or more years directly relevant experience (e.g., distribution systems, electric operations or construction, journeyman level electrician, dispatch experience) required without Bachelors Degree; Three or more years of other relevant experience may be considered with Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline
- Pass the SO/PD II Test (required)
- Experience as a DSOS I preferred
