Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate daily workflow for logistics coordinators, assigning duties, examining work for conformance to policies, and maintaining a productive staff through hiring, training, and professional development programs. Direct order processing, ensure accurate data entries on delivery orders and inventory reports, and oversee the release of orders to shipping to meet efficiency goals. Manage associate performance, recommend promotions and terminations, and plan staffing levels for the distribution office. Utilize proprietary distribution software, audit new accounts, and coordinate with sales and credit personnel to address complex customer issues. Assist in developing the annual departmental budget, track performance measures, and provide necessary reports to management while promoting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • 4 years-related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two years of experience in distribution/inventory control
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management software programs
  • Inventory management knowledge
  • budgeting knowledge
  • accounting knowledge
  • Expeditors company policies and procedures knowledge
  • A good understanding of Expeditors' products, services and systems
  • Strong market and competition knowledge
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Requires direct warehouse-related experience in customer service
  • management skills such as planning, supervising, controlling, organizing and staffing
  • Communication skills are necessary to establish effective working relationships

  • Initiative and ability to work in autonomy
  • Proven leadership attitude and background
  • Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training
