Job Summary
Supervise materials management and shipping operations, coordinating receivals, pre-positioning, and outbound deliveries to support uninterrupted production while optimizing transportation costs and maintaining KPIs. Lead a team of material handlers through guidance, coaching, and performance feedback, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, PPE, GMP, and HACCP guidelines. Utilize the WMS system to maintain inventory control, track materials and finished goods, and minimize discrepancies. Assist in developing distribution processes, SOPs, and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce lead times. Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, production, procurement, and logistics to align distribution activities with production operations. Prioritize safety in all distribution activities to maintain a compliant working environment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of materials management, shipping processes, and distribution best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, providing excellent service to internal and external partners
- Understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, HACCP, etc.) and QA processes
- Proficient with WMS
- 3+years proven experience in distribution supervision, preferably in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience in leading a team of material handlers, fostering collaboration and professional growth
- Forklift and pallet jack experience
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas
- Occasional ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED, preferred associates and/or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field
- Customer service knowledge/experience is a plus
