Job Summary
Overhead 2nd Class Lineman performs electrical work in the construction and maintenance of overhead distribution lines, transformers, meters and related equipment. Responsibilities include climbing wood poles, ladders, and towers; installing/removing conductors, poles and supports; installing/removing jumpers, capacitors, regulators, transformers, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear; troubleshooting primary/secondary systems and clearing faulted circuits; following Switching and Tagging procedures; maintaining equipment and vehicles; participating in Pre-Job Briefings; and working from a bucket or climbing structures. Requires safety adherence, ability to work outdoors in various conditions, and English communication; requires CDL-A and willingness to travel and work extended periods. Four 10-hour days per week schedule; non-exempt role under River City Construction.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Communicate in English
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods in different locations
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record
