Job Summary
Overhead 1st Class Lineman role performing construction and maintenance of electrical overhead distribution systems. Responsibilities include leading crew members in Foreman's absence, installing and maintaining overhead components (poles, anchors, transformers, crossarms, insulators, switches, switchgear), troubleshooting primary and secondary systems, handling high-voltage work with safety as a priority, maintaining vehicles and tools, performing rigorous physical labor, climbing various structures, and planning safe work based on job prints or work orders. Requires ability to identify primary/secondary voltage, understand grounding procedures, work at heights or in confined spaces, and conduct pre-job tailgate briefings. Physical stamina, adaptability to travel between locations, and readiness for overtime are expected. Must have experience with PPE, phasing, reconductoring, and related high-voltage procedures, and be capable of operating in inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of recent field experience
- Acceptable driving record
- Travel long distances at short notice
- Work for extended periods in multiple locations
- Lift more than 50 lbs
- Knowledge of inspecting rubber goods and PPE
- Willing to work overtime when requested
- Willingness to glove/work live high voltage power lines
