Job Summary
Distribution Journeyman Lineman performs installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground distribution and communication systems; installs/removes equipment such as poles, cross arms, transformers, switches, and protective devices; tests conductors and cables; operates test equipment and construction vehicles; collaborates with apprentices and helpers; emphasizes a safety-first mindset while working on energized lines in various climates; requires on-site work and potential relocation. Preferred qualifications include experience as a Distribution or Transmission Journeyman Lineman, knowledge of electrical utility construction methods and standards, Fall Restraint Equipment usage, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card
- Weight less than 285 pounds due to safety equipment restrictions
- Valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license
- Experience working with utility poles (including ascending and descending climbing)
