Distribution Interconnections Planning Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct technical review and support for Distributed Generation projects, including solar, battery storage, and biomass interconnections. Perform area contingency studies and apply Distributed Energy Resource modeling to ensure new interconnections safely meet Grid Planning Council and customer needs. Collaborate with SCS and GPC workgroups across Customer Programs, Renewable Development, Distribution Reliability, Area Planning, Transmission Interconnections, and Power Delivery teams. This role offers hands-on experience with renewable energy implementation and energy procurement programs. Relocation assistance is considered for candidates not currently residing in the Metro Atlanta area.
Required Qualifications
- Reside in the Metro Atlanta area

- Experience with Distributed Energy Resource modeling
- Experience with area contingency studies
- Experience with real-world applications of DG projects
- Knowledge of energy procurement programs
- Experience working with SCS and GPC workgroups (such as Customer Programs, Renewable Development, Distribution Reliability, Area Planning, Transmission Interconnections, and area Power Delivery teams)
