Job Summary
Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers, developing work packages for overhead, underground, and make-ready projects using customer GIS and WMS systems. Manage scope, schedule, and budget while conducting scope analysis to advocate client priorities and maintain adherence. Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes and coordinate conflicting utility requirements for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments. Collect field data to assist in developing work packages, requiring comfort in both office and field settings. This role supports the Power Delivery Services Team, which serves over 50 investor-owned utilities and 160 municipals/cooperatives with reliable power and telecommunication expertise.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of prior relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial)
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Some Prior experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
- Ability to provide your own reliable transportation
- Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision

- Must be located within a commutable distance of Eastern, PA
- Must be available for in-person meetings and assignments throughout the customer territory in Pennsylvania on an as-needed basis
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) preferred
- Additional relevant experience/certifications
- Some previous experience with: Providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC
- Design tools such as Pole Foreman, Pull Planner, and Katapult
- Work management software and job estimating software
- CAD or MicroStation - performing Electrical Distribution design
- Collaborative attitude and inclusivity of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations
- Professional Engineer License (PE)
