Job Summary
Deliver products from the distribution center to restaurants and food industries, managing 10-15 daily stops across 150-300 miles using a hand truck for ramp piece work. Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, perform preventative maintenance, and maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions at facilities and customer sites. Collect customer payments, secure sensitive items like keys and codes, and maintain the one-for-one exchange program for pallets and milk crates. Adhere to state and federal truck driving regulations, company policies, and DOT medical card requirements while operating in all weather conditions. Requires a CDL-B designator, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds for up to 8-12 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Ability to multitask with strict attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to read, write, and speak the Standard English language
- Current valid Driver's License
- No recent moving or driving violation
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, etc.)
- Current valid DOT Medical Card
- A CDL-B designator
- All types of weather and traffic conditions
- Standing, walking, and driving for up to 8-12 hours a day
- Lifting and moving material up to 100 pounds each
- Normal bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below waist and above the head
- Fast-paced self-starter position
- Work alone with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Two years driving straight body trucks
- Legible penmanship
- History of ability to perform tasks with superior attention to detail
- Positive reputation for Customer Service
