Job Summary
Safely maneuver a 26-foot box truck to transport goods and products to designated locations, planning efficient routes to ensure on-time deliveries. Load and unload merchandise using appropriate equipment, verify delivery order accuracy with customers, and perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and receipts while communicating with dispatch and handling customer inquiries. Adhere to all traffic laws and company protocols, working flexible schedules that may include weekends or overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a box truck or delivery driver
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and routes
- Excellent driving skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to handle the physical demands of loading and unloading goods
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic math skills for verifying order quantities and handling cash transactions
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing delivery paperwork
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Flexible schedule with the willingness to work occasional weekends or overtime
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a 26-foot box truck for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload goods including items of moderate to heavy weight
- Ability to bend, reach, climb in and out of the truck
- Ability to use material-handling equipment as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Capability to complete routine vehicle inspections
