Distribution Designer - Joint Use

Job Summary
Design overhead electric distribution facilities and prepare make-ready engineering packages for Joint Use construction projects involving pole attachments and third-party telecommunications providers. Develop construction drawings, staking sheets, and supporting documentation while interpreting utility construction standards and applying NESC requirements. Coordinate pole attachment requests, evaluate existing infrastructure, and manage multiple projects from initial customer request through construction and closeout. Maintain accurate project documentation, track milestones, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Support storm restoration and emergency response activities as needed. This role supports utility clients including electric distribution infrastructure, telecommunications providers, municipalities, and industrial sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, Drafting, Applied Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent utility industry experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Joint Use Design.
- 2+ years of experience in Electric Distribution Design.
- 2+ years of experience in Utility Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in Utility Construction.
- 2+ years of experience in Pole Attachment Programs.
- Experience interpreting utility construction standards and engineering drawings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license with willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
