Job Summary
Identify improvements and major repair needs on the distribution system, assessing cost/benefit alternatives to prioritize circuit changes. Plan system improvements for assigned circuits, analyzing projected deficiencies like voltage and overloads while developing reliability alternatives. Conduct outage, voltage, and power quality investigations; engineer recloser and breaker settings; and provide support for switching and contingency plans. Create work requests in STORMS/AIMS, negotiate easements with customers, and evaluate proposed DG interconnection applications. Participate in emergency restoration efforts, major system reviews, and corrective action committees to prevent recurrence.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering
- Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for emergency assignments outside of normal responsibilities, work hours and location
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) to Five (5) years of equivalent experience in Energy Delivery

- Ability to have nonexclusive, non-supervisory, storm restoration and emergency assignments
- Ability to support Operations with distribution issues

- Ability to provide engineering support to Field Distribution Design
- Ability to provide regulator and capacitor control settings for Electrical Maintenance
- Ability to work with P&CE on developing Recloser and Breaker settings

- Ability to participate in System Operation Review Committee (SORC) and engineer corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Ability to provide reports as required
- Ability to engineer, develop and present distribution projects to Operating Company Review Committee (OCRC) for approval
- Ability to evaluate proposed DG interconnection applications
- Ability to review and implement annual procedures
