Distribution Centre Manager - Preston

Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day site operations of a 24/7 distribution depot, achieving objectives for health and safety, security, productivity, transport, and cost. Lead a workforce of over 250 employees to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe working environment. Drive productivity through clearly set targets and manage the depot's P&L via effective planning and reporting. You will cover any five shifts, including weekends, and must hold a full UK driving licence. This role supports DPD UK's goal of being the most sustainable delivery company in the UK, offering development opportunities within a market leader in parcel delivery and e-commerce solutions.
Required Qualifications
- You'll know the logistics or distribution industry
- experience of running large, fast paced, 24/7 operations
- responsibility of a daily throughput of 25,000+
- a workforce in excess of 250 employees
- You will be a confident communicator/presenter
- the skills to lead and manage teams
- influence strategy
- liaise with our Directors
- A person capable of decisive and effective decision-making
- in a time pressured environment
- A full UK driving licence
- you will be required to cover any 5 shifts
- which could include weekend working
