Job Summary
Manage outbound distribution operations by directing daily staff, conducting performance reviews, and leading team meetings to maintain 99.75% same-day shipping accuracy. Proactively plan workflows, coordinate with Supply Chain and Account Services teams, and oversee order preparation for small parcels and LTL shipments. Track daily KPIs including turnaround, accuracy, and customer claims while ensuring all orders are shipped timely. Address operational issues, manage shipping supplies and budgets, and create updated procedures for outbound efficiency. Maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant environment and utilize downtime for training or projects. Support the DC Director and Inbound Manager with hiring, escalation, and daily reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operational management or distribution management
- Prior independent or direct management experience
- Growth minded with a focus on efficiencies
- Demonstrated ability to motivate team members with a track record of surpassing KPIs
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple needs, and switch from being reactive to proactive in day-to-day work
- Demonstrated ability to digest data and make results actionable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with situational management; flexible, patient, open to change
- Professional maturity; proven ability to make sound decisions based on education and/or job knowledge
- Positive attitude and motivation
- Strong work ethic and personal integrity
- Valid authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Be trained as a trainer for fork lift operations
- Develop working knowledge of SAP and Exacta until an advanced level is attained
- Maintain working knowledge of all mobile devices, workstations (hardware/software) in the DC
- Work with key people on system bugs and improvements
