Job Summary
Manage overall warehouse operations in Kansas City, including staffing, shipping, receiving, inventory, fleet, and facilities maintenance. Ensure all inbound and outbound transfers are processed within 48 hours of receipt, maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and FEFO rotation, and oversee Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs to meet GDP compliance. Recruit, train, and develop the DC team while enforcing safety procedures and resolving operational problems. Coordinate daily fleet deliveries, manage packaging supply ordering, and interface with customer service and carriers to support on-time shipping. This working manager role requires 8 years of warehousing experience, forklift certification, and the ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of equivalent working experience in warehousing, logistics and/or other related fields
- Knowledge of modern warehousing techniques including logistics, special handling/storage requirements and shipping alternatives
- Ability to lead, motivate and supervise employees
- Must have the ability to communicate, both actively, and pro-actively
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed to objectives without supervision
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems
- The ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to travel domestically as required
- Must be willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as workload dictates
