Job Summary
Load, unload, and distribute hospital supplies and equipment throughout the Medical Center using manual equipment, U-boats, hand trucks, and forklifts. Receive shipments from vendors, verify counts against bills of lading, and sort outgoing mail into established services while maintaining accurate volume records. Operate postage meters, answer mail inquiries, and perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Replenish par-stock carts in patient care areas including med/surg and instrument supplies, obtaining authorizing signatures for all deliveries. Report discrepancies regarding shortages, damages, or incorrect catalog numbers to supervisory staff. Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to all workload schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School or General Equivalent Diploma
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Experience working with computerized inventory management and warehousing systems such as barcode and handheld scanning devices
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute work/projects with attention to details
- Accuracy in record-keeping
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to function successfully in a team environment
- Courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers
- Efficient and safe operation of postal equipment, material handling equipment (Forklift, power and manual jacks etc)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of warehouse and/or store experience
