Job Summary
Support experienced linemen in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Set poles and anchors, read blueprints, and assist in the assembly and erection of poles and line structures. Work safely on energized and de-energized power lines while learning wire sagging techniques, grounding procedures, and proper PPE usage. Climb wood and steel structures, perform aerial bucket rescue, and maintain company vehicles and tools. Demonstrate initiative and teamwork within a crew, applying minimum approach distances and flag/tag procedures. Requires a Class A CDL, First Aid/CPR certification, and ability to work extended hours in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug, alcohol, background, MVR, and clearinghouse checks
- Must pass DOT physical examination
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
- Competency in pole top rescue
