Job Summary
Define and evolve the reference architecture for distributed, event-driven, and integration-centric systems, establishing principles and standards across engineering teams. Lead system design for high-scale, mission-critical applications, focusing on throughput, fault tolerance, and scalability using Java microservices and cloud-native platforms like Kubernetes. Architect solutions for enterprise integration patterns, API governance, and data flows including Event Sourcing and CQRS, while implementing observability strategies with Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. Partner with internal and external customers, mentor senior engineers, and ensure compliance with FedRAMP and DoD standards. Lead the design and evolution of Blue Yonder Defense Solutions' next-generation enterprise-scale platform for digital supply chain and omni-channel commerce fulfillment.
Required Qualifications
- US citizen
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant focus on distributed systems architecture
- Proven experience designing large-scale, distributed, and event-driven systems
- Strong technical understanding of Java based microservices architecture and API gateways
- Strong experience design event riven architecture messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and Data Flows
- Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and API design
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of data architecture in distributed environments
- Ability to relocate to Dallas
- Can be cleared in the future
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with designing and integration in Supply chain world
- Familiarity with concepts from: Designing Data-Intensive Applications, Enterprise Integration Patterns
- Experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP, DoD, defense systems)
- Experience designing multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platforms
- Experience with Apache ActiveMQ
