Job Summary

Provide onsite technical support for the installation, modernization, testing, and sustainment of Navy C5I systems aboard ships under construction, overhaul, and modernization. Coordinate installation activities with HII Newport News Shipbuilding, Government representatives, engineering teams, and Alteration Installation Teams. Review engineering drawings, Technical Instructions, installation packages, and ship alteration records to ensure readiness and compliance. Conduct shipboard surveys to evaluate existing configurations, identify installation impacts, and develop technical recommendations. Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, and networked systems during installation, testing, and operational verification. Perform system inspections, operational testing, validation, and acceptance activities to verify installation quality and technical compliance. Identify installation issues, evaluate technical impacts, and develop corrective action recommendations to minimize schedule delays and operational risk. Prepare technical reports, installation status updates, survey findings, deficiency reports, and recommendations for Government review. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to installation personnel and support teams during execution of complex shipboard installations. Coordinate multiple installation efforts simultaneously while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules. Recommend process improvements and installation best practices that improve efficiency, quality, and overall mission execution. Support Government meetings, planning conferences, production reviews, and technical discussions as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have at least ten (10) years of experience supporting U.S. Navy Shipboard C5I or electronic systems installations
  • Must have a strong understanding of Navy installation processes and procedures
  • Must have knowledge of shipboard network integration and interoperability testing
  • Previous experience working within Newport News Shipbuilding or another major naval shipbuilding
  • Top Secret

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • Relevant military experience or equivalent technical experience may be substituted for formal education
  • Security+ Desired
