Distributed Storage Engineer -Vice President

Job Summary
Distributed Storage Engineer (Vice President) responsible for evaluating, testing, designing, and certifying best-of-breed block storage solutions to support critical financial applications. Provides engineering-level support to the global storage operations team, mentors junior staff, and develops automation to streamline deployments while ensuring security and compliance with Citi’s standards. Requires deep expertise in SAN and Software-Defined Storage, extensive experience with Linux/VMware/Windows integration, and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible) to automate processes and reduce manual touchpoints. Lead and influence storage engineering decisions, develop best practices, and manage risk and regulatory compliance within a matrix organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 11+ years of relevant experience in a Storage Engineering role or equivalent
- Deep understanding of Block Storage technology such as SAN and/or Software-Defined storage
- Strong Dell PowerFlex Storage experience or equivalent (IBM Ceph or similar)
- Extensive IP Storage Networking knowledge such as NVME-of-Fabric or iSCSI
- Deep understanding of storage technology such as RAID, Erasure Coding, Mirroring, Disaster Recovery, Replication, Snapshot
- Extensive knowledge of Linux, VMware and Windows
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple parts of a project
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
