Job Summary
DIST Plans Constructability Rev Spec I conducts phase reviews of construction plans for constructability and biddability for both major and minor construction projects; attends meetings with design project managers and Engineers of Record to discuss constructability and maintenance of traffic; compiles and submits design comments for resolution; assists in administering the district warranty program by researching warranty deficiency letters and coordinating with contractors; some projects may involve field visits to verify site conditions. The role verifies quantities, pay items, and performs field reviews of project designs, reviews 3D construction plan deliveries, and coordinates with the Designer and Resident Office to facilitate high-quality bid packages; analyzes traffic control plans to ensure capacity during construction; applies standards from MUTCD, CPAM, and Florida Design Manual; provides contractual support, assists in preparing contracts and TWOs, and tracks funding status; supports ITS projects and coordination with Design and Construction on contracts; requires knowledge of engineering principles, design/construction production, and contract administration; strong analytic, communication, and organizational skills; must be able to establish working relationships; requires Class E driver license and ability to respond to emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or its equivalent; 2 years experience in a related field can substitute for the high school diploma or equivalency.
- This position requires a valid Class (E) driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department’s Driver’s Record Requirements Policy.
