Job Summary
Manage landfill operations through hands-on projects, fill sequencing, and equipment deployment while developing expertise in safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance. Execute the Disposal Operations Management Trainee curriculum across Foundational, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, utilizing the WM Learning Management System for mandatory training sessions. Lead site personnel management, participate in operational reviews, and engage in community affairs events to build a safety-conscious culture. Gain proficiency in heavy equipment maintenance, leachate control, and landfill gas systems while understanding waste sales pricing and financial reporting. Complete the 18-month developmental program to prepare for Operations Manager or District Manager roles within Waste Management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
- 5 years of relevant work experience with increased responsibility in construction, engineering, geology, operations management or heavy equipment (in addition to education requirement)
- Must be able to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols
- Must be subject to drug and alcohol testing

- PE (Professional Engineer) certificate
- RLS (Registered Land Surveyor) certificate
- PG (Professional Geologist) certificate
