Job Summary
Dispensing Pharmacist in a Long Term Care pharmacy role within Omnicare/CVS Health. Responsible for accurate entry and verification of orders, security of the pharmacy, preparation and/or supervision of sterile IV products if required, maintaining inventory (including schedule II drugs), ensuring compliance with DEA and state laws and HIPAA, and providing evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. Emphasizes high-quality customer service, leadership within the pharmacy team, and contributing to continuous improvement and service quality. Requires a NY pharmacist license, active and in good standing, with Pharmacy Doctorate or B.S. in Pharmacy and immunization/IV certification or willingness to obtain, and ability to operate within a fast-paced LTC environment. The role is full-time with a schedule described as 6am-8pm on days that include weekends and holidays, with a 4-day rotation and 32 hours per week anticipated. Required Qualifications
- Licensed pharmacist in the state of New York
- Active and in good standing
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
- Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified
- IV Certification or experience
- Anticipated weekly hours 32
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Knowledge of DEA and state laws regarding controlled drug dispensing
- Experience with sterile IV drug products if required
- HIPAA compliance education or training
- Dispensing accuracy and documentation
- Prescriptions and medication order verification
- Perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs
- Pharmacy security and safety protocols
