Job Summary
Conduct dispensed optician duties by recommending lens and frame options, teaching contact lens procedures, and providing low vision aid services. Take accurate measurements, ensure high-quality fittings, and manage complex prescriptions or adjustments with confidence. Support patients with queries, resolve dispensing-related issues, and contribute to the upkeep and organisation of the practice. Work four days a week plus one Saturday per month (9 am - 1 pm) in a team of ten at an independent Heathfield practice.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the GOC or appropriate governing body
- Qualified Dispensing Optician
- Technical skills
- Product knowledge
- Ability to recommend the best lens and frame options for each individual's visual and lifestyle needs
- Ability to do contact lens teaching and low vision aid
- Ability to take accurate measurements
- Ability to ensure high-quality fittings
- Ability to manage complex prescriptions or adjustments with confidence
- Ability to support patients with queries or concerns
- Ability to help the team resolve any dispensing-related issues
- Ability to contribute to the upkeep and organisation of the practice
- Ability to take pride in great service
- Ability to bring warmth, care, and expertise to every interaction
- Part-time availability (4 days a week)
- Availability for 1 Saturday per month (9 am - 1 pm)
