Job Summary
Per diem dispensing nurse (LPN/LVN) dispensing prescribed medications as part of a treatment team, administer daily medications, use automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, maintain dispensing equipment, and manage medication inventory in a substance-use-treatment outpatient setting. Maintain accurate records and reports per company protocol and federal/state regulations, ensure security for distribution and storage of controlled substances (DEA/state compliance), order/receive/stock medications (Power of Attorney if granted), provide daily patient assessments, and assist Nursing Supervisor with orienting new nursing staff; requires CA license, CPR, and comfort with EMR systems, with experience in chemical dependency and a commitment to compassionate care.
Required Qualifications
- Current & good standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of California
- In CA only, a CA license as a Psychiatric Technician may be substituted for nursing license
- Current CPR certification required
- EMR & computer proficiency desired
- Experience in chemical dependency preferred
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
