Dispensing Nurse (LPN) - Nisqually Generations Healing Center

Job Summary
Administer Methadone or Buprenorphine/Naloxone as ordered by providers while maintaining accurate accounting of all medication received and dispensed. Conduct daily monitoring of patients reporting to the opiate treatment clinic, performing breath alcohol testing and conducting ongoing physical, emotional, and chemical assessments. Maintain safekeeping of all medication stock and required records for the DEA, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy, accurately charting patient encounters through the Electronic Health Record. Collaborate with staff providers to make decisions about patient care needs and explain proper medication use to clients. Ensure security and confidentiality of program data in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Maintain current statistical records and explain proper medication effects to clients. This role supports the Nisqually Generations Healing Center's whole person recovery model, serving tribal and non-tribal patients under one roof.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in good standing with the State of Washington
- Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the minimum requirements established by Nisqually Indian Tribes vehicle insurance provider
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- The ability to work with vulnerable populations including adults and children
- Must pass a state and national (FBI) criminal history background check prior to employment
- Must maintain professional standards and follow the treatment policies of the Nisqually Generations Healing Center as well as Federal and State laws and regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Regular attendance is required
- later hours or weekend time may be required

- Knowledge of the current medical practices in primary care, mental health and addiction medicine
- Knowledge of Tribal, Federal, and state laws, codes, and regulations
- HIPAA and PHI Knowledge and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2)
- Operating a personal computer and standard office programs and equipment
- Organizational management practices
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills

- Motivational interviewing (MI) skills or a desire to learn MI
- Work in a computer-based environment, especially Microsoft Windows

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and external agencies
- Maintain personal, professional, and ethical boundaries

Desired Qualifications
- Three years' experience of professional work as an LPN is desirable
- Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes
