Job Summary
Direct, schedule, and oversee assistant managers, shift leads, and budtenders to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient coverage while translating company objectives into daily store goals for sales, margin, and customer retention. Monitor sales trends, traffic, and conversion rates; take corrective action when results fall below expectations and ensure employees describe products accurately without unsupported medical claims. Operate the dispensary in accordance with California Department of Cannabis Control requirements, maintain METRC and POS entries, and ensure inspection and audit readiness. Oversee receiving, transfers, cycle counts, and cash-handling procedures; enforce security controls and investigate discrepancies promptly. Manage store labor, scheduling, and operating expenses within approved budgets while preparing accurate reports for leadership.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, retail management or a related field
- At least three years of progressively responsible retail or hospitality management experience
- At least two years in a licensed cannabis retail environment
- Demonstrated experience supervising employees
- Demonstrated experience managing schedules
- Demonstrated experience coaching performance
- Demonstrated experience participating in hiring decisions
- Demonstrated experience participating in corrective-action decisions
- Working knowledge of California cannabis retail regulations
- Working knowledge of METRC
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
- Working knowledge of inventory controls
- Working knowledge of cash-management practices
- Ability to interpret sales and financial reports
- Ability to manage labor
