Job Summary
Receives new prescriptions, enters data into the Practice Management and Electronic Health Record System, and processes medication labels. Handles prescription refill requests, answers phone calls, and directs inquiries. Stocks and stores medications and vaccines, regulates stock levels for forms, supplies, Liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen tanks, and Nitrous Oxide, and orders medications through the software system. Returns outdated, expired, recalled, or overstocked items for credit and disposal. Completes Prior Authorization and T.A.R. requests with Medical Provider approval, maintains log binders for sample medications and the $10 Medication Program, and tracks patient application status for the Patient Assistance Program. Prepares assistance program medications for patient pickup. Performs customer service duties, updates patient information, and conducts monthly stock medication inventory. Adheres to attendance policies and reports to any FHCN location as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must have proof of completion of high school with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 or completion of General Educational Development (GED) with a minimum overall score of 162.5
- If an individual has completed a degree at a higher level than required by the role and had a stronger GPA in that program, they may provide proof of GPA from that degree in lieu of the high school diploma
- Have a minimum of one year of experience and knowledge of pharmacy processes and practices
- Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information
- Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Effectively communicate routine or non-technical information to co-workers and others
- Effectively communicates written information (including electronic correspondence) and verbal presentation
- Ability to sit and use repetitive hand movement to type and grasp
- Ability to stand or walk
- Ability to bend waist, twist waist, squat, climb, kneel, reach above and below shoulder height
- Ability to move items up to 30 pounds
- Ability to present to and work at any FHCN location, both at the beginning of a shift or during a shift, based on business need
