Job Summary
Coordinate shipping lanes and staff by delivering assignments, instructions, and alerts via the organization's communications network. Answer incoming calls and communications, then dispatch and deploy staff, vehicles, and units based on received information. Proficiently utilize multi-line telephone systems, mobile phones, two-way radios, and other networks to manage operations. Accurately complete required forms and documents on behalf of the client while monitoring drivers' daily logs for errors or violations. Track drivers' working hours and equipment availability, and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers. Perform other duties as assigned. This role supports Tacit Logistics Inc.'s fleet operations remotely, typically requiring 25-40 hours per week from Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- A background in logistics or experience as a dispatcher
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of related experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to execute directions accurately and in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate
- Proficient with computer technology
- Ability to learn company-specific programs
- Ability to access GPS monitoring programs
- Fluent in English
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn a variety of communications systems for example: Zoho Cliq, Verizon Connect, Keep Trucking, Samsara
- Familiar or proficient with Samara
- Familiar or proficient with Keep Trucking
- Familiar or proficient with ZOHO
- Familiar or proficient with iCal
- Familiar or proficient with iOS
- Familiar or proficient with iPadOS
- Some weekends as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Knowing a second language as well can be very advantageous and make you a stronger candidate
