Job Summary
Coordinate pharmacy delivery drivers and manage emergency medication orders to ensure timely, accurate distribution to customers and healthcare facilities. Optimize delivery schedules to maximize efficiency while serving as the primary point of contact for pharmacy staff, drivers, and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues. Maintain accurate records of delivery activities, track quality metrics, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow and provide training to new dispatchers and drivers. Work a rotating 3-on/4-off schedule from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM to support a 24-hour pharmacy operation serving senior-living and post-acute settings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or a similar field; minimum one year experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, make independent decisions, maintain organization, prioritize, and multi-task
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as operational needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24-hour pharmacy operation
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in using dispatching software, Microsoft knowledge, GPS systems, and other computer programs
- Additional education or certification in pharmacy technology or healthcare administration
- Prior experience in pharmacy operations, dispatching, logistics, or a related field is preferred, especially in a 24-hour environment
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements
