Job Summary
Dispatch delivery orders and relay messages and special instructions to delivery drivers. Utilize standard forecasting processes to generate optimal deliveries, determine manpower requirements, and schedule routes. Assist management in monitoring service issues, contacting customers to communicate problems, and making corrective changes. Support staff through effective communication and contingency planning while reviewing inefficient deliveries to improve efficiency. Coordinate safety and DOT regulations and gather quality data from drivers and field offices to enhance customer service. Requires a valid California driver's license, prior dispatch experience preferred, and flexibility for on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations. Monday to Friday, 09:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and clean California State driver's license
- Submit and pass the required drug screening
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- You must be flexible with scheduling as on-call, weekend, and holiday hour rotations are a necessity of the position
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Dispatch experience (Preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with mathematical concepts preferred
- Ability to lead others through challenges, obstacles, deadlines, and changes with a positive result
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced customer service organization and results-driven culture
- Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel and database skills
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
