Job Summary
Assign motor vehicles and drivers for building material conveyance by compiling vehicle availability lists and assigning trips based on length, purpose, and user preference. Direct driver activities via two-way radio while issuing keys, credentials, and recording departure times, destinations, and cargo details. Establish service routes, assign helpers, and investigate overdue vehicles or delays. Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, or damaged merchandise and maintains records of mileage, fuel, and repairs. This hourly role offers a base wage of $20–$25 plus potential incentives, with a high school diploma and six months of related experience required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- six months to one year related experience and/or training
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write basic business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers, and members of management
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
