Job Summary
Dispatcher I Delivery at Builders FirstSource assigns vehicles and drivers for conveying building materials, assigns orders to lift operators, issues keys and credentials, records departure details, investigates overdue vehicles, directs drivers via two-way radio, and communicates with customers to expedite or locate missing or damaged merchandise. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related experience or equivalent, with no supervisory responsibilities. Emphasizes route establishment, mileage and fuel tracking, and coordination with drivers and helpers to ensure timely deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write basic business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers, and management.
