Job Summary
Provide schedules and dispatch delivery crews to maximize branch profitability while ensuring safe and efficient operations. Distribute all delivery orders accurately to branch warehouse and staff, using DOT software to maintain compliance. Call to confirm address, material, and stocking conditions on every delivery before trucks leave the warehouse. Manage material accuracy verification for each truck and monitor labor costs. Establish customer relationships by communicating delivery statuses and addressing concerns directly with the Branch Manager. Maintain professional contact with customers before, during, and after sales. Attend all required meetings and adhere to company policies, DOT, and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer knowledge/ data entry skills
- Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills
- Assertive – demonstrated ability to 'take charge' and be pro-active when necessary
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly read a road/ geographical map and communicate directions to someone else
- Demonstrated effective (polite, organized, questioning) telephone skills
- Flexibility/adaptability in personal work schedule and in product/delivery scheduling
- Strong organizational skills
- Approaches job assignments with positive 'can do' attitude
- Effective interpersonal skills with customers and peers
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Building products knowledge strongly preferred
- Previous experience preferred
