Job Summary
Dispatcher (Fixed-Route) oversees scheduling and assignment of bus operators to ensure on-time service, monitors fixed-route performance, responds to operator issues, and enforces safety and policy procedures. Responsibilities include reporting on on-time performance, managing emergencies, coordinating service changes with management, maintaining communications with supervisory staff and the public, and documenting operator work and customer complaints. Requires a Pennsylvania CDL with passenger endorsement, annual CDL medical certification, 21+ years old, ability to read maps, good driving record, and English communication skills. Must be able to report to work seven days a week, wear a uniform, and participate in training as required. DOT-safety sensitive position.
Required Qualifications
- Requires Pennsylvania CDL license with air brakes and passenger endorsement
- CDL medical examination/certification every two years or as specified by physician
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to read and understand mapping
- Must have acceptable driving record
- Ability to communicate with the public regarding Authority information
- Ability to communicate with Authority co-workers regarding route information and/or emergency situations
- Must have job-related experience
- Ability to follow a schedule
- Ability to complete reports
- Ability to effectively communicate and follow oral/written instructions in English
