Job Summary
Oversee daily routes and bus scheduling while dispatching vehicles to ensure on-time performance for the Yonkers School District. Manage heavy phone and radio traffic, counsel drivers and monitors, and resolve student drop-off or pick-up concerns. Serve as the primary communication liaison with the contracted customer and report scheduling issues or complaints to the Operations Supervisor. Assist with charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as needed, and perform backup driving or clerical duties when required. Complete special projects and additional assignments to support day-to-day transportation operations. Work full-time, 40 hours per week between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of relevant experience
- Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or professional driving experience
- Basic knowledge of radio-dispatch equipment
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to perform effectively under deadlines and time constraints
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- DOT drug testing and physical requirements
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 compliance (no Schedule I drugs, including marijuana)
