Job Summary
Monitor daily schedules and driver progress to maximize productivity and efficiency. Adjust schedules and develop alternate plans as needed to protect service and minimize disruptions. Communicate delays, breakdowns, missed pickups, and other issues to the commercial team in real time. Track and maintain accurate documentation related to scheduled, missed, and extra pickups, route completion, and driver locations. Review equipment requirements and promptly communicate any issues or concerns. Monitor routes using telematics technology to help ensure timely completion. Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with customers. Identify and report driver performance issues or concerns to the appropriate management team. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of prior dispatcher experience
- Experience managing or dispatching a fleet of 35+ drivers
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Strong critical-thinking abilities
- Proactive problem-solving abilities
