Job Summary
Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and commendations while resolving on-the-road problems and processing trip reassignments. Authorize out-of-route trips, schedule alternative rides, and monitor drivers to minimize non-revenue payroll hours. Use computer systems to retrieve schedule information, complete daily reports including accident and incident logs, and reconcile fares during the driver checkout process. Answer and direct business calls, communicate route issues to personnel, and comply with all safety and DOT regulations. Operate a revenue service vehicle periodically. This role supports institutional and private customers in the East Bay within a 7-day-a-week schedule from 2:30 AM to Midnight.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class C License for at least three years
- Knowledge of two-way radio/Nextel/Walkie talkie or push to talk system
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Scheduling software
- Microsoft office skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed including nights, evenings and weekends
- Must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment and access filing system/cabinets
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Para transit or fixed route experience as a dispatcher preferred
