Job Summary
Emergency Medical Dispatcher in a 911 Emergency Communications Call Center acts as the vital first point of contact for medical emergencies, gathering critical information, determining response levels, and dispatching ambulances while providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. Responsibilities include answering and processing emergency and non-emergency calls, rapidly assessing nature and location of emergencies, dispatching ALS/BLS/Wheelchair Van resources, providing step-by-step medical instructions, communicating arrival times with facilities, monitoring field personnel locations via GPS/CAD, maintaining real-time incident records, multi-tasking data entry, and adhering to company policies. Requires a high school diploma or GED, EMD/CPR/911/Telecommunicator certifications, and EMS/public safety dispatcher experience or training; strong verbal/written communication, data recording, analytical abilities, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are needed.
Required Qualifications

- Experience: minimal medical training or telecommunications experience, or at least one year of EMS or Public Safety Dispatcher experience
- Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications preferred
