Job Summary
Dispatcher coordinate deliveries with other stores and customers, assign drivers, ensure deliveries are on time, collaborate with the lumberyard team to build loads, communicate changes in delivery schedules, ensure delivery equipment is safe and maintained per DOT regulations, and maintain drivers’ logs per DOT rules; utilize the delivery dispatch management system to improve delivery efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Previous driving and/or dispatching experience
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Customer service skills to cultivate relationships
- Ability to multitask while remaining organized
- This is not a desk job, so must enjoy being active
