Dispatcher - Bilingual

Job Summary
Supervise assigned Owner Operators to ensure highest utilization within DOT regulations and company policy while efficiently planning units for on-time delivery. Complete all dispatch work in the TL2000 system in real time, monitor daily check calls for compliance, and communicate service failures to Operations and Customer Service. Record and monitor daily hours of service, maintain equipment repair files, and assist with recruiting efforts. Requires weekend availability, night or overnight shifts (11 pm to 8 am), and 50% travel. Candidates must have five years of transportation experience, be Spanish bilingual, and pass background checks and drug tests.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 or more years of experience required in Transportation, Logistics, or Operations
- Must be familiar with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, issued by the U. S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration; safety rules and instructions; in-bond regulations for customs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high profile and fast paced environment
- Ability to adapt to a variety of personalities as it relates to Owner Operators
- Strong operational background in transportation industry with dispatch experience
- Verbal and written communication skills
- 50% travel required
- Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard workweek)
- The applicant selected for this position will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test. Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position
- Will require weekend avaliablity
- night or overnight shift once day training is complete
- Night shift would be 11 pm to 8 am
- Sunday night thru Friday morning
- Also have the morning weekend shift with two off days during the week would also be doing two night s during the week in the evening
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Operations
- Spanish bilingual
- AS400 operating systems experience (preferably TL2000)
- Microsoft Office
- Strong operational background in transportation industry with dispatch experience preferred
