Job Summary
Organized Intermodal Trucking Dispatcher responsible for coordinating daily container movements across rail yards, ports, warehouses, and customer facilities. Key duties include dispatching and monitoring intermodal drivers for on-time pickups/deliveries, coordinating freight movements between rail terminals, ports, and customers, communicating load assignments and route changes to drivers, tracking container status and equipment utilization, ensuring HOS compliance and safety, resolving service issues, maintaining dispatch records in TMS, and coordinating with railroads, steamship lines, brokers, and terminal personnel. Must review and optimize routes to maximize productivity, ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies, and communicate status to customers. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Excel is expected; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ports and Railroads
- Knowledge of FMCSA Regulations, safety rules and DOT preventable truck maintenance
- Experience working with owner operator drivers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of logs related to commercial/intermodal carriers
- Computer skills-must be confident utilizing the Google suite of products (docs, sheets, Gmail, etc) and Microsoft Excel
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required
