Job Summary
Oversee all dispatching personnel within the communications center by directing staff on deployment, incoming calls, and administrative tasks. Broadcast assignments to transport crews, operate radio and computer equipment to relay orders, and respond to service calls by obtaining intake information and inputting data into the Computer Aided Dispatch system. Ensure equipment readiness, perform daily inspections of the work area, and maintain security of the Dispatch Center and company property. Provide pre-arrival instructions, coordinate with field supervisors and management to fulfill System Status Plans, and act as a Communications Training Officer for new staff. Accept responsibility for recertification as an EMT and lead staff in adhering to company policies and contractual obligations.
Required Qualifications
- All Dispatch Call Taker and Dispatcher requirements
- Must have the ability to function as a leader evaluating, coaching, training and directing dispatch staff
- The ability to reach, push and pull
- The ability to sit for long periods of time
- The ability to use phones and radios to communicate with callers, crews and other staff
- The ability to use mouse or keyboard to input data into computer over long periods of time
- The ability to view graphic and text data on multiple computer screens for long periods of times
- The ability to complete all job duties during any and all hours of the day and night
